Whether you want to learn to ride or to enhance your riding skills, we can provide you with a range of lessons, trekking activities and horse ridings weekends with as much 'hands-on’ involvement with our horses and ponies as you wish and all for £249.00 per person for a 2 night 2 day break, to include breakfast and lunch.
Dunton Stables is an ABRS approved riding school and trekking centre that clearly meets high standards of care and welfare for our horses and ponies and provides a professional and friendly service to our wide range of clients. We have an excellent team of dedicated staff and volunteers who are committed to ensuring that our visitors have a truly unforgettable riding experience with us.
Our 2 night 2 day horse riding weekends are suited to novice or experienced riders and great fun as a family activity or for a small group of friends. We accommodate no more than 4 people at one time and are happy to take lone individuals who will quickly feel at home with our friendly team. Accommodation is in shared, twin bedded rooms that are furbished to a very high standard and have en suite facilities as well as Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
Lessons delivered are in an outdoor ménage and we offer a mix of small group and private lessons to each client. Instruction is always geared to the ability and potential of each rider and clients have a range of horses and ponies to ride. Lessons are alternated with trekking experiences so that even new riders start to enjoy the exhilaration of riding out in open countryside.
We also promote the opportunity for all riders to become involved in the care and the presentation of the horses. We know from experience that working with the horses and ponies on the ground is a real confidence booster as well as a grand way to build a rapport with your horse. Clients are helped to groom and to tack up and can be involved in bathing and plaiting if they wish. Support from qualified and experienced staff is always on have and for those clients who have little or no stable management experience, one to one support is given in a friendly and fun way. We do guarantee that you will leave us at the end of your stay with new or enhanced riding skills and a greater knowledge and understanding than when you arrived!
Mini-Treks last for 1 hour and go across the fields to the village of Marston and back, the pub trek is also off road and the 2 hour trek to Kingsbury Water Park incorporates just about 100 yards of road work. All treks are accompanied by experienced leaders or out riders and their aim is to ensure that you have an enjoyable and safe riding experience as well as improving your riding style.
Riding Weekend Horses & Ponies
The horses and ponies at Dunton are well trained and are ideal for both novice and experienced horse riders. Our 'coloured cobs' are best suited to trekking and enjoy cantering across the fields and heath land as well as trotting in wooded glades, pools and lakes that we pass during our horse riding weekends.
Horse Riding Weekend Trekking Route
During the horse riding weekend you will enjoy trekking along the bridleway from the Dunton Stable yard towards Kingsbury Water Park which has 620 acres of parkland and landscaped lakes. Kingsbury is well known to our horses who enjoy a drink from the lakes along the route around the park. This parkland area is covered in an array of flora and wildlife and has conservation areas.
